LIMERICK CITY AND COUNTY COUNCIL In association with THE LIME TREE THEATRE | BELLTABLE have announced an invitation to tender for operation of restaurant at Belltable, 69 O’Connell Street Limerick.
The Café in the basement of Belltable, 69 O’Connell Street, Limerick has the potential to be a successful restaurant/café/wine bar business, complimentary to the use of the main building above it, the Belltable.
The café/restaurant will offer daytime and early evening services in a friendly and welcoming environment and will form a key part of the provision of a quality cultural experience to the visitors to Belltable.
The quality of food, customer service and presentation must be of the standard in keeping with the building and environment. The opening hours of the Belltable are Monday to Saturday, 12 midday to 6pm, and on the evening of a performance or screening, it remains open until the show is over.
The space available is 85 sq metres, with space to seat 50 customers. There is a possibility that this can be extended to the ground floor, especially in the early evening, before performances and film screenings. This will be the subject of negotiation between the management of Belltable and the café/restaurant operator.
The type of food to be served will be at the discretion of the café/restaurant operator, but will be of a high quality. In any event, it must include tea/coffee, snacks and hot dishes. The restaurant must be open between 12pm and 8pm, but may open earlier in the morning, as the café/restaurant owner requires.
All utilities are payable by the caterer which include electricity charges, water, gas and heating. These are payable to the Lime Tree Theatre and will be agreed prior to signing of contract The café licensee will be invited, from time to time to provide the catering services for functions organised on behalf of Lime Tree Theatre | Belltable, with appropriate notice given to the organiser.
The Licensee must have public liability and employers liability insurance. The licensee must also hold a valid Tax Clearance certificate. Applications may be short-listed and tenderers will be subject to an interview on the basis of the documentation submitted. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
The Lime Tree Theatre/Limerick City & County Council reserves the right not to award any contract.
