I regularly walk Shannon during the long summer evenings
and am constantly awed by the history and beauty that envelopes you along its
banks. Our riverside and indeed the river itself deserve to be appreciated.

 Visitors to
our city never fail to comment on the beauty of the Shannon yet many of us
living and working in Limerick rarely take a moment to fully experience its
beauty.
Limerick City and County Council are to be commended for the design and completion
of our new river walkway along Howleys Quay. It really is a beautiful addition
to our city and something that everyone should get out and enjoy during the
coming months.
If you are a
little more adventurous you may wish to get right into the heart of our city by
taking a unique kayaking tour on the River Shannon. Nevsail Watersports have
recently introduced Limerick City Kayaking tours which offer a fantastic
opportunity for visitors and locals to experience the city in a way that is so
often ignored.
The exciting,
safe, and relaxing tours take in King John’s Castle, King’s Island and the
Treaty Stone. The city comes to life as this two and a half hour trip lets you
experience the sights and sounds of our city from the perspective of the
Shannon.
Whether you
are a wildlife lover, a history buff or simply someone wanting to get wet and
wild on the Shannon the Limerick City Kayaking Tours could be just for you.
Warm winter wetsuits, helmets and lifejackets are provided so no excuse!
The cost per
person for a trip is €35 and bookings can made by contacting Nevsail
Watersports on 086 3309236 or email info@nevsailwatersports.com.

The River
Shannon is our major asset. Make the most of it by walking it or running it.
Sit by it or ride it. Most of all enjoy it.
